Crash, catch, convert

Plan overview

Pantheon support wins through a repeatable chain: crash or stabilize the lane, create a visible numbers advantage, spend Mortal Will on a purposeful empowered spell, and convert the result into a wave, vision, structure, or objective. Early, prioritize a lane state that keeps your ADC safe and gives Shield Vault a real follow-up window. Mid game, move with the next timer and use Grand Starfall to arrive where the enemy is exposed. Late, enter second unless the catch is certain. When ahead, deny fog and force responses around objectives; when behind, protect the scaling axis, trade cross-map, and stop donating deaths to low-information engages. The phase transition is not a clock alone: it happens when the lane wave can no longer support your team’s next action.

In the opening, decide whether your lane can contest the push or must absorb it. If your ADC can safely help crash, use the pressure to threaten Shield Vault and secure a recall or river move; if the enemy reaches level 2 first or your wave is large against you, give up marginal CS rather than force an all-in. Build Mortal Will deliberately, keep enough mana for the actual engage, and only leave after a crash or a visible fight nearby. Your transition is the first successful crash that lets you reset vision or coordinate a gank.

Lane

Choose the lane state before spending the stun

If the first wave can be pushed without exposing your ADC to an all-in, help create a crash and use the resulting window to establish lane information or threaten a short trade. If the enemy has the stronger level-2 threat or your wave is being pushed into you, preserve mana and hold Shield Vault for the engage rather than forcing priority.

With Pantheon

Play near Pantheon when he has a clear target. If he walks into range with Shield Vault ready, add damage immediately rather than waiting for a second initiation; his value is highest when the stun becomes a fast numbers advantage.
Give him wave and vision information before asking for a roam. If Pantheon has crashed the lane and the next fight is already visible, follow his route or ping the retreat; if the play is speculative, let him return to the wave instead of forcing a walk into fog.
After he lands Grand Starfall or starts a catch, focus the same target and then convert the death timer. If Pantheon is ahead, help him turn the pick into a tower or objective; if he is behind, position so his entry is a peelable second wave rather than a solo sacrifice.

Identity, strengths and limits

Pantheon support is a mana-based diver who creates short, decisive numbers advantages. He uses Mortal Will as an empowered-spell economy, Shield Vault to start a focused catch, Aegis Assault to survive the front-facing retaliation window, and Grand Starfall to change where the fight happens. He wins by turning lane priority or fog into a pick, then converting it into map resources. He is not a permanent frontline, an enchanter, or a champion who wants to spend every cooldown on the nearest target; when allies cannot follow, his engage becomes a liability.

Forcing Shield Vault when no ally can follow, turning a support engage into an isolated death.
Spending Mortal Will on routine poke and lacking the empowered spell for the actual catch.
Using Aegis Assault as permission to walk into a full enemy team without an exit.
Leaving an uncrashed bot wave for a speculative roam and giving the enemy free tempo.
Landing Grand Starfall into dark terrain when your team cannot reach the arrival point.

One idea for your next game

For the next game, make every Shield Vault decision a numbers check: if an ally can follow immediately, use the stun to create a focused catch; if not, hold it and zone. After a successful entry, if your team can safely stay and a usable wave, vision route, or objective is available, convert that advantage instead of searching for a second solo fight. Your test is simple: fewer isolated engages, more plays that leave your team with a wave, vision, or structure.
