Crash, build Fury, then choose the fight
Plan overview
Start with a deliberate wave plan: push and crash when that gives a recall or movement window; hold a safer wave when your Fury and extended lane position make the enemy vulnerable. Build Fury through nearby minions, then spend it on the champion interaction that matters rather than on routine wave damage. In the mid game, create a side-lane answer, crash, and arrive before objective setup is finished. When ahead, convert pressure into towers, enemy jungle access with priority, and prepared dives or flanks—not repeated solo chases. When behind, stop forcing the all-in: collect safe waves, preserve health, and join fights where your stun can punish an enemy entry. In every phase, keep one dash or a visible escape route whenever the enemy jungler is missing.
Plan by phase
Build the lane around safe Fury
0:00–14:00, especially before the first crash, recall, or top-side contest window
Play for wave control and Fury without spending both dashes for damage. If you can push safely, crash before recalling so the wave returns toward you and your next trade starts from a better position. If the opponent has the larger wave, respect the level and minion window, take safe experience, and wait for their trade tool or dash to be used. Your transition is a health-and-Fury reset: leave lane only after a crash, a visible jungle position, or a clear ally play.
Game situations
Lane
Make Fury and wave position decide the trade
If the first three waves can be pushed without entering the opponent's strongest trade range, crash before recalling or moving; this denies an easy freeze and creates a short window for river or objective movement. If your Fury is already above 50 or your wave is smaller, hold a safer position and trade only when the opponent's key trade tool or dash has been used.
With Renekton
If Renekton has more than 50 Fury and a clear target, give him a nearby point of follow-up rather than starting a separate fight. His first dash and stun create the opening; your damage should arrive during that control window.
If he is pushing a side lane before an objective, hold mid or river space without forcing a 4v5. When the enemy sends two players to answer him, take the objective or structure only if your numbers and vision make that conversion real.
If Renekton is behind, do not ask him to be the first body into a prepared enemy team. Let him catch a safe wave and use his stun to punish an enemy diver or peel for the carry when direct access is unavailable.
If you are setting up a dive, help him crash a meaningful wave first. Once the enemy must choose between defending the tower and contesting the play, Renekton's Fury and crowd control have a clearer target and the dive has a reason to exist.
If Renekton has Teleport and the next objective is on the opposite side, place the team's pressure where his side wave forces an answer. A visible flank route is useful only when the four-person group can avoid starting a losing fight before he arrives.
If he begins an engage while two or more allies are outside follow-up range, disengage rather than chasing his target into fog. Renekton's kit creates the window; allies still need to turn that window into damage.
Identity, strengths and limits
Turn Fury into a window the enemy cannot ignore
Top diver · Fury economy · decisive mid-game entries
Renekton is a top-lane diver who converts Fury into short, forceful windows: close distance with Slice and Dice, lock a target with Ruthless Predator, and use Cull the Meek or Dominus to survive the return damage. He wins by creating mid-game side pressure and decisive skirmishes before the enemy can comfortably kite or layer peel. He is not a permanent frontliner, a late-game poke champion, or a reason to fight without follow-up; his value depends on choosing when Fury, health, dashes, and ally range overlap.
Strengths
Strong short-range threat when Fury empowers the correct ability.
Reliable single-target stun for dives, skirmishes, and counter-engage.
Two dash instances create access and repositioning when managed deliberately.
Cull the Meek and Dominus support extended close-range pressure.
Limits and risks
Forcing an all-in when Fury is low, the wave is against you, or allies cannot follow.
Spending both Slice and Dice dashes to enter before the enemy's escape or peel tools are known.
Treating Dominus as permission to fight any number of enemies instead of a window that still needs a reachable target.
Splitting deep when Teleport is unavailable, enemy positions are hidden, or an objective is about to spawn.
One idea for your next game
For the next game, make every forward trade answer one question: what will this Fury buy me? Build Fury through safe wave contact, then spend it on a clear champion window—an empowered W to lock a reachable target, an empowered E to reduce a durable target's armor, or an empowered Q to sustain through nearby enemies. If no ally can follow and no escape remains, do not convert Fury into a forced fight. Crash the wave, reset, and preserve your next meaningful window.

Renekton is a terrifying, rage-fueled Ascended being from the scorched deserts of Shurima. Once, he was his empire's most esteemed warrior, leading the nation's armies to countless victories. However, after the empire's fall, Renekton was entombed beneath the sands, and slowly, as the world turned and changed, he succumbed to insanity. Now free once more, he is utterly consumed with finding and killing his brother, Nasus, who he blames, in his madness, for the centuries he spent in darkness.
