Absolution
When units die near Senna, their souls are periodically trapped by the Black Mist. Senna can attack these souls to free them, absorbing the Mist that held them in death. Mist fuels her Relic Cannon's power with increased Attack Damage, Attack Range, and Critical Strike Chance. Attacks from Senna's Relic Cannon take longer to fire, deal bonus damage, and briefly grant her a portion of her target's Move Speed.

Game plan · Support
Farm safe Mist, then turn range into controlled fights
Plan overview
Senna's whole-game plan is to convert safe lane pressure into Mist, range, and map influence without paying for each resource with her life. Early, trade around waves and cooldowns, collect Mist only when your partner can cover you, and crash before recalls or roams. Mid game, schedule movement around the next objective and use W, E, and vision to create a numbers advantage. Late, play behind the frontline as a marksman while reserving utility for the enemy engage. When ahead, deny space through sieges, picks, and objective setups; when behind, stop contesting Mist or fog routes that cost health, protect the strongest scaling ally, and trade map resources until a W catch or enemy mistake creates a fair fight.
Plan by phase
Build pressure without donating the lane
0:00–about 14:00, especially level and first-recall windows
Early Senna wants controlled trades around enemy last hits, allied wave strength, and Q angles that heal her partner while damaging the opponent. Attack nearby souls only when the enemy cannot punish the animation or deny your exit. Push when you need a crash for recall or a roam; if the lane is losing the all-in, give up risky Mist and preserve health, mana, and experience. Your first transition is a successful crash: reset together, then return before the next contested wave or objective setup.
Game situations
Lane
Trade for lane control, not Mist alone
If the first waves give you a push advantage and your partner can contest the lane, use Q through a target to pressure both sides of the trade, then crash before recalling or moving. If Senna is being threatened by an all-in or the enemy wave is larger, preserve mana and position behind the wave; do not spend Q merely to tag the enemy when the return trade is stronger.
With Senna
If Senna is your support, give her a wave and trade structure she can use: let the wave crash before a recall, then punish enemies who step up for last hits. When she marks a target with W or begins a Q trade, follow only if the wave and your health support it. Do not demand that she walk into melee range for Mist; her scaling is valuable, but her survival is the larger condition for repeated damage and utility.
If your team has a diver or engage champion, create the first contact while Senna stays at a safe angle. If you catch someone and Senna is within one screen, her Q, W, and cannon damage can extend the window; if she is still arriving, do not turn a small catch into a 2v5. Her E is more reliable when the team agrees on a destination, so move together rather than scattering through the camouflage.
If Senna is the strongest ranged damage source, protect her during objective setups: push the nearby waves, sweep entrances 60–90 seconds before spawn, and let her attack from the cleared side of the line. If she uses Dawning Shadow to save a cross-map ally, recognize that her global defensive tool is temporarily unavailable and avoid forcing the next fight without another protection plan.
If Senna is behind, make the game playable for her by offering safe waves and fighting on vision rather than asking for isolated catches. If the enemy commits to dragon and your team cannot contest with numbers, take the available wave, tower pressure, or opposite-side camp and reset; Senna's range and global shield give more comeback value when she is alive to use them.
If Senna is ahead, let her pressure an approach instead of starting every fight yourself. When W lands or the enemy must walk into a choke, hold the exit and convert the pick into a tower, objective, or waves. A kill without conversion does not protect her Mist lead, while a controlled siege forces the enemy to answer her range.
Identity, strengths and limits
Turn safe pressure into a map-wide advantage
MARKSMAN SUPPORT · MIST ECONOMY · GLOBAL FIGHT IMPACT
Senna is a ranged marksman-support who turns nearby deaths into Mist, building attack damage, range, and critical chance while contributing healing, roots, camouflage, and a global shield-and-damage ultimate. She wins by creating repeated long-range pressure, keeping an ally healthy through the fight, and converting safe lane control into picks or objectives. Her cannon attacks fire slowly, so spacing and target choice matter. She is not a front-line engage support, and Mist is not worth walking into an enemy wave or abandoning her lane partner.
Strengths
Mist converts nearby deaths into long-term range, damage, and critical-chance scaling.
Q can damage enemies and heal allies along the same line.
W provides catch and zone threat when allies can follow.
E creates a safer movement and camouflage window for grouped rotations.
Dawning Shadow can influence fights across the map while Senna stays with her lane or carry.
Limits and risks
Walking into an enemy wave or fog to collect Mist and losing the health needed for the next objective.
Using E as a blind engage or escape before identifying where allies and enemies will be.
Spending Q and W for poke when an all-in or objective setup is about to begin.
Roaming before a crash, leaving the lane partner exposed to a freeze, plates, or a 2v1.
One idea for your next game
For the next game, make every Mist and Q trade serve a visible purpose: a crashed wave, a forced recall, or a safe objective setup. Before attacking a soul or stepping forward, ask whether your lane partner can trade with you and whether the enemy wave makes the exchange favorable. Senna scales through Mist into range, damage, and critical chance, but collecting it is not permission to overextend. Your test is simple: take the resource when the wave and ally position make the exit safe, then convert the pressure into a reset or map move.

Cursed from childhood to be haunted by the supernatural Black Mist, Senna joined a sacred order known as the Sentinels of Light, and fiercely fought back—only to be killed, her soul imprisoned in a lantern by the cruel specter Thresh. But refusing to lose hope, within the lantern Senna learned to use the Mist, and reemerged to new life, forever changed. Now wielding darkness along with light, Senna seeks to end the Black Mist by turning it against itself—with every blast of her relic weapon, redeeming the souls lost within.
