Prioritize safe CS, experience, and Hex Fragments while keeping enough mana to contest the next wave. Use Siphon Power for a shielded trade when the enemy must last-hit, and use Hextech Ray for a crash only when the wave state gives you a reason to move. If you can crash safely, recall or move to a visible skirmish; if not, accept a quieter lane and protect the next Fragment breakpoint. When behind, take experience and farm from range rather than defending a bad wave position with your health.

Trade wave control for safe Fragment income

If the first waves can be cleared without exposing yourself to an all-in and your jungler can use mid priority, shove and crash before moving; if Viktor contests the wave with Hextech Ray or Siphon Power, take the short trade only when your minion count and health remain favorable, then return to the wave. If you cannot crash, stay for the next safe CS instead of roaming through fog and donating the wave.

With Viktor

• If Viktor is holding mid priority, use his crashed wave as your signal to move; do not start a distant fight while he is still catching minions. When he places Gravity Field or Arcane Storm on an entrance, fight on the controlled side of that space and keep enemies from simply walking around it. His damage and control improve when opponents remain in the zone, so peel divers away from him rather than asking him to lead the engage.
• If Viktor is behind, protect his access to safe waves and avoid demanding blind river fights for every objective. When the team cannot establish vision 60–90 seconds before spawn, trade the contested resource for a wave, tower, or opposite-side camp and let him continue building Hex Fragments. If an enemy overextends into a prepared choke, collapse with him; do not ask him to create the opening alone.
• If Viktor has a lead, give him the wave that lets him maintain pressure and group him after the crash. When he uses Arcane Storm on a committed fight, keep targets inside its threat without chasing beyond the controlled area. If an enemy dies after taking damage from the storm, use the resulting larger or longer-lasting zone to secure the next structure or objective instead of scattering for low-value kills.
• If your team has a frontline or reliable first contact, let that champion reveal the engagement angle while Viktor places his control behind the entry. If Viktor's spells are ready and two or more allies are nearby, the team can turn a narrow corridor into a favorable fight; if he is alone or his mana is low, disengage and reset rather than treating his control as guaranteed follow-up.
• If the enemy is forced to answer a side wave, use the time to establish vision on the next objective side and let Viktor arrive through a safe route. When a Baron or dragon take begins, keep him outside the pit entrance where his line damage and storm can affect the approach; do not trap him in the pit where his own team blocks his spell angles.
