Feline Friendship
Periodically, when Yuumi strikes a champion with an attack or ability, she restores health to herself and the next ally she Attaches to. While Attached, Yuumi generates a special bond with her allies. The ally with the strongest bond enhances Yuumi's abilities while she is Attached to them.

Game plan · Support
Attach with purpose, reset together, convert protection
Plan overview
Yuumi wants a reliable host, a safe lane state, and fights long enough for her repeated protection and Best Friend enhancement to matter. Early, preserve the carry's health and XP while spending Q and E only around clear trade windows; crash before any roam or recall. Around the first tower transition, move with the next objective timer and reset with the ally whose damage can convert your protection. Ahead, amplify that player and turn pressure into towers and objectives. Behind, stop forcing lane poke, attach to the strongest comeback vector, and trade contested objectives. In every phase, detachment is a deliberate risk: take it only for a visible payoff, then return before your host is forced to fight without you.
Plan by phase
Build the bond without donating the lane
0:00–about 14:00, or until first towers and plate pressure change lane assignments
In lane, identify which ally can convert protection into damage and treat that player as your initial bond candidate. If the wave is safe and the enemy's engage tool is down, use Q to pressure the next last-hit and E to preserve health or create a short trade window. If the wave is pushing toward the enemy without vision, stay attached and conserve mana. Move only after a crash, because an empty roam leaves your carry exposed and costs the lane's shared XP and pressure.
Game situations
Lane
Lane: spend mana to preserve the carry
If your ADC can contest the next wave and the enemy's engage tool is unavailable, then use the lane to build a safe push while staying close enough to attach instantly. If the enemy has the wave advantage or your ADC is already in lethal range, give up marginal poke and preserve mana for Zoomies and the retreat; Yuumi's lane value comes from keeping the carry functional, not from forcing isolated trades.
With Yuumi
Play around Yuumi's chosen host instead of assuming she can protect every teammate equally. If you are the ally with the strongest bond, stay within a safe distance of the next fight and give her a clear target for You and Me!; her value drops when you repeatedly enter fog alone or force her to swap hosts during the engage.
Give Yuumi a wave-crash window before asking for a roam or objective rotation. If you push the wave and then move together, she can preserve your health, help create a pick, and return before you lose the next wave. If you leave the wave unresolved, her movement spends your lane's income rather than creating tempo.
When Yuumi is attached, play for sustained damage and controlled spacing rather than an isolated dive. If the enemy commits, let her use Zoomies and Final Chapter while you attack the nearest safe target; do not sprint past her protection toward a low-value chase that breaks the host position.
If Yuumi is behind, make her job easier by becoming a visible, playable comeback vector: catch safe waves, group for the next timer, and avoid starting fights while she is recalling. A Yuumi team wins more reliably when one ally gives her a stable host and the rest create room for that host to deal damage.
Identity, strengths and limits
Make one ally impossible to ignore
Support • Enchanter • attachment and bond management
Yuumi is an enchanter whose win condition is making one ally more difficult to kill and more effective over an extended fight. Her defining economy is attachment: You and Me! makes her untargetable except by turrets, while the strongest bond enhances her abilities and determines which ally she should amplify. Feline Friendship rewards deliberate champion interaction, but detaching creates exposure. Yuumi is not an independent catcher, wave-clearer, or frontline engager; she wins by choosing the right host, preserving mana, and answering the enemy's commit with shields, movement speed, healing, slows, and a channel that can move with her ally.
Strengths
Makes a chosen ally safer and more effective through attachment, bond enhancement, shielding, movement speed, and healing.
Can influence fights while moving with the host instead of standing in the frontline.
Q creates a long-range slow threat, with stronger effects when it travels long enough or is cast while attached to the Best Friend.
Final Chapter can damage enemies and heal allies while Yuumi moves, attaches, and casts Zoomies.
Limits and risks
Detaching for speculative poke or vision while the carry is exposed to an engage.
Spending Zoomies on chip damage, then having no shield or movement-speed answer for the real dive.
Following the wrong ally after lane phase instead of identifying who can safely carry the next fight.
Entering objective fog alone or arriving after the enemy has already established its vision line.
Using Final Chapter because a fight started when your host cannot safely deal damage or follow the channel.
One idea for your next game
For the next game, make every movement answer one question: “Can my carry stay in the fight if I leave?” Keep your Best Friend attached through predictable danger, use Zoomies for the first real burst, and only detach or roam after a crashed wave creates a visible, nearby play. At each objective, reset and arrive with the ally you are amplifying instead of drifting into fog alone. Your test is simple: fewer speculative movements, more fights where your shield, Q, or Final Chapter affects the carry that can actually win them.
A magical cat from Bandle City, Yuumi was once the familiar of a yordle enchantress, Norra. When her master mysteriously disappeared, Yuumi became the Keeper of Norra's sentient Book of Thresholds, traveling through portals in its pages to search for her. Yearning for affection, Yuumi seeks friendly companions to partner with on her journey, protecting them with luminous shields and fierce resolve. While Book strives to keep her on task, Yuumi is often drawn to worldly comforts, such as naps and fish. In the end, however, she always returns to her quest to find her friend.
