Game plan · Mid
The game plan: load Pyromania, crash waves, convert one pick at a time
Plan overview
Build the game around a visible Pyromania cycle. In lane, farm with Q when it refunds, use W for a real wave or trade, and count every spell so the next offensive spell's stun is intentional. Crash before recalls and planned roams; answer a visible fight or low-health target when the conversion is immediate and follow-up exists. At objective cycles, arrive with mana, health, and a clear stun target during the available setup window. After 14:00, alternate between catching a useful wave and moving first for a pick, tower, or objective. When ahead, turn priority into paired fog control and enemy-jungle access; when behind, preserve CS and use the stun to punish a face-check or protect your strongest ally. Around 20:00 Baron changes the map's urgency, and after 25:00 deaths demand conversion discipline: win a pick, then bank the map advantage instead of extending the chase.
Plan by phase
Early: farm while loading the threat
0:00–14:00, especially the 8:00 Voidgrubs window and any visible pre-objective setup
From 0:00 to roughly 14:00, build lane economy: use Q for last hits when it will refund, keep enough mana and cooldown access for a meaningful trade, and count spells toward Pyromania. If the enemy is stronger in the first levels, take safe XP and let the wave come to you; if you gain push, crash before moving. Transition from a crashed wave into a recall, a visible river response, or setup for the Voidgrubs window at 8:00. A lost trade is a recovery signal, not permission to force a stun; stabilize through farm and a safer wave state.
Game situations
Lane
Lane: turn Pyromania into a threat, not a counter
If the first waves can be cleared without exposing yourself to an enemy all-in, use Q to last-hit when it will refund mana, then use W on a meaningful wave or champion window. If Q will not destroy the target, avoid routine casts that remove your next trade resource. After four total spells, treat the next offensive spell as a stun and position around that window.
With Annie
If Annie has a Pyromania stun ready, play near her during the next wave crash or objective setup; your presence gives her follow-up without requiring a blind solo engage. If she is behind, help her reach the wave safely rather than asking her to force a low-percentage roam.
If Annie marks a target with her stun or starts moving from fog, follow only when you are close enough to act immediately. A delayed follow-up turns her short burst window into a wasted rotation, while an ally already nearby can convert it into a kill or objective.
If Annie uses Molten Shield on you while you enter, take the space it creates and focus the same target; if she holds it for herself, peel the diver that reaches her instead of expecting her to start a second fight.
If Annie wins a pick before an objective, move to the structure or monster immediately when the wave and numbers support it. Her team should bank the advantage; repeated chasing gives the enemy time to respawn and resets the map.
If Annie is holding Tibbers and a stun for a contested fight, do not demand that she spend both on an isolated tank before the enemy carries appear. Give her a protected angle and let the first committed target create the opening.
If the team is behind, make the plan legible: clear the incoming wave, hold the objective entrance, and stay close enough that Annie's stun can punish an overstep. A scattered team removes the follow-up her kit needs.
Identity, strengths and limits
Bank four spells. Make the next move matter.
MID · BURST MAGE · PYROMANIA WINDOWS
Annie is a burst mage who converts a controlled spell count into a sudden pick. Pyromania is the load-bearing mechanic: after four spells, her next offensive spell stuns, so ordinary farming and shielding can become setup for a decisive W, Q, or R window. Q refunds its mana when it destroys the target, making clean last-hits support her economy; Molten Shield can protect her or an ally while creating movement and retaliation pressure. She wins by controlling mid priority, arriving to skirmishes with a readable stun threat, and deleting or locking a vulnerable target before a fight becomes extended. She is not a sustained frontliner, a blind river checker, or a champion who should spend every spell on poke without a conversion plan.
Strengths
A prepared Pyromania stun can turn a short numbers window into a pick.
Q refunds mana when it destroys its target, supporting disciplined farming.
W gives reliable area damage for waves and clustered targets.
Molten Shield adds protection, movement, and retaliation pressure for an entry or peel.
Tibbers gives Annie a large teamfight threat when she reaches the fight with a plan.
Limits and risks
Forcing a planned roam before the wave crashes and donating mid XP and gold when no immediate fight is visible.
Spending four spells without knowing what the armed stun will unlock.
Walking into river first when Tibbers, Pyromania, or allied follow-up is unavailable and no visible catch demands an answer.
Using the full rotation on a low-value target and leaving no threat for the actual objective fight.
Chasing after a burst play when no tower, wave, or objective can be converted.
One idea for your next game
For the next game, count Pyromania before every move without turning the count into a ban on responding. If the fourth spell is available or one cast will arm the stun, push the wave and identify the target, fight, or objective the next offensive spell can unlock. If the stun is down, prefer farming, resetting, or rebuilding it—unless a visible fight, low-health target, or clear numbers advantage creates an immediate conversion window. Your test is whether the move has a named purpose and a viable follow-up.

Dangerous, yet disarmingly precocious, Annie is a child mage with immense pyromantic power. Even in the shadows of the mountains north of Noxus, she is a magical outlier. Her natural affinity for fire manifested early in life through unpredictable, emotional outbursts, though she eventually learned to control these “playful tricks.” Her favorite includes the summoning of her beloved teddy bear, Tibbers, as a fiery protector. Lost in the perpetual innocence of childhood, Annie wanders the dark forests, always looking for someone to play with.
