Win the lane through wave access and measured range
0:30–about 14:00; level races, first recalls, and the first dragon setup decide your lane tempo
In the opening waves, decide whether your duo can push for the level race or must preserve health against the enemy's stronger engage. Attack when the opponent walks for a last hit, but avoid extended trades inside a larger enemy wave. Use Q to punish a predictable approach, E when its slow or healing reduction changes the trade, and preserve enough mana to contest the next wave. Crash before recalling; if the lane is pushing toward the enemy and you have no safe follow-up, take the wave rather than roaming. When ahead, deny access with wave pressure; when behind, prioritize CS and experience from a safe distance.
