Farm safely, then turn attack uptime into objectives

Plan overview

Vayne's whole-game plan is to turn gold into attack uptime without donating the opening death. Early, choose between pushing for a crash and accepting a controlled weak-side lane based on the enemy's level-2 and engage threat. Recall after a crash, then build toward the first objective with both bot players present. Around 14:00, shift to safe side waves and objective setups. When ahead, make the enemy answer Vayne's scaling and side pressure, then convert their response into towers or a prepared fight; do not treat a lead as permission to enter fog. When behind, collect safe waves and play around teammates who can provide entry or peel. In every phase, Tumble is damage positioning and an escape resource, Silver Bolts rewards staying on one target only while the third hit is safe, and Condemn should be preserved for a decisive moment.

Plan by phase

Farm through the threat, then buy tempo

0:00–14:00; especially the first two waves, first cannon crashes, and the 60–90 seconds before dragon

Your first job is to preserve health and reach reliable farm while reading the bot level-2 race. If your duo can push without entering the enemy's all-in range, crash a wave before recalling or moving; if they control the early push, take experience and safe CS rather than forcing the center of the lane. Trade when an enemy walks up for a last hit, Tumble can create an angle, and the enemy wave is not doing the damage for them. Do not spend Condemn casually if its displacement is your only answer to an engage. When the first dragon window approaches, convert a crashed bot wave into a paired recall and setup.

Lane

Choose the first two waves by threat, not habit

If the first two waves can be pushed without losing health to the enemy's engage, then build an early crash and use the resulting recall or river window; if the opposing duo has the stronger level-2 threat, concede the last few CS rather than contesting the wave inside their advantage.

With Vayne

Play around Vayne's attack range rather than asking her to start the fight. If you can hold the enemy in place or force their engage tool first, she gets time to build Silver Bolts; if she is being dove, peel the closest threat instead of chasing the enemy frontline.
Give bot lane a clear crash-and-recall window before dragon. If Vayne and her support are healthy and the wave is moving toward the enemy turret, use that priority to establish river control; if the wave is stuck on your side, protect the catch before calling for a contest.
In teamfights, create a front-to-back space where Vayne can hit the nearest safe target. If she has Final Hour and a viable angle, do not demand an immediate all-in; let her use Tumble and Condemn to keep the fight extended while you deny the enemy's route to her.
When Vayne is ahead, make her side pressure actionable rather than sending her into a dark lane alone. If she is catching the side opposite the next objective, hold mid or objective-side vision so the enemy must reveal multiple members before she is threatened.

Make every safe third hit matter

Vayne is a marksman who converts safe attack time into lethal sustained damage. Her defining economy is Silver Bolts: repeated attacks or abilities on one target create a third-hit true-damage trigger, so target access and spacing matter more than flashy first-hit damage. Tumble lets her reposition each attack, while Condemn turns favorable terrain into displacement and a stun. Final Hour raises the value of these choices through damage, movement, and invisible Tumbles. She is not a front-line engager, an early wave-clear bully, or an assassin who should enter first; she wins by surviving the opening, then maintaining attacks on targets she can reach safely.

Tumble supports repeated spacing decisions and can create a safer third-hit angle.
Condemn can punish overextension when terrain or a narrow approach is available.

Limits and risks

Forcing early trades inside a full enemy wave or before the bot level-2 race is settled.
Using Tumble forward while the enemy engage tools are ready and no exit is visible.
Spending Condemn for minor poke when it is the only spell that can stop the next engage.
Entering objective fog alone because Final Hour makes a bad approach look survivable.
Chasing the enemy backline while a closer target can be attacked safely.

One idea for your next game

For the next game, make every Tumble answer two questions: does it create a safe Silver Bolts sequence, and does it leave an exit from the enemy's retaliation? In lane, use it around last hits rather than spending it randomly. In fights, wait until the frontline or enemy engage tool has shown, then use Final Hour and Tumble to keep attacking the nearest safe target. Your test is simple: fewer tumbles that leave you exposed, more completed three-hit patterns or clean disengages.
